Description

Yajlib, the founder of the Benandanti werewolf clan, and the historian for all werewolf kind, desires to meet Dr. Alexander Galen and Dr. Lucy Crumpler. He wishes to share with them his history, and some of the histories of other werewolves, in order to clear up the misconceptions that were generated to keep their secrets safe. Yajlib also shares how he and others became werewolves. He also reveals that wolves were not the only creatures to be joined in an unusual bond with humans.

As Yajlib talks, he is recognized by Alexander and Lucy as being Merlin, the great wizard who helped King Arthur. Yajlib admits it was he, along with the help of some Benandanti, who helped Arthur to build the kingdom.

Yaslib tells his story and the history of how werewolves began, then the stories of Fenrir, Lycaon, the Volsunga Saga, Stubbe Peter, the horrendous slaughter of wolves and werewolves in France, and St. Patrick and the Ossory Werewolves. At the end it is revealed that Kleos, a daughter of Lycaon, has come out of hiding and is in search of one of Fenrir's offspring, who has vowed to destroy all of mankind.
